Committee Reports-

Membership:  Waneta Parmenter, Bonnie Winkeler-  The Steering Committee discussed annual SCCMG membership requirements for 2020, the current approved requirements are as followed:  Current Master Gardens require 12-hours of volunteering with 5 of those hours working in the Demo Gardens.  An additional 6-hours of continuing education are also required to maintain active status.  There will be no changes to the hours necessary for a Trainee to become a Master Gardener as they have until June 2021 to meet their requirements.

Cindy mentioned scheduling an event for the Trainees once fifty people are allowed on the extension grounds.

Demo Gardens:  Cindy Platzer- Cindy reported that there is leaf mulch available for Demo gardens and Master Gardeners to use.  Soil will need to be ordered at some point to be used for potting up perennials.

Greenhouse:  Marsha Brown, Laura Stiemel-   Amanda Templer is stepping down from the Greenhouse Lead position.  Laura is willing to be a co-lead of the greenhouse.   Looking for additional helpers, Laura Stiemel plans to co-lead with Nancy Torke and perhaps one other.  Marsha mentioned the sick bay, to be attached to the back of the greenhouse, needs to be constructed this fall.  Joe reminded the SC that the greenhouse has a capitol asset allocation budget separate from the Demo Garden budget to be used to cover construction costs.

Plant Sale:  Marsha Brown, Laura Stiemel- Marsha reports that the Plant Sale is done.  We won't be having a fall sale- there are not enough plants leftover for one.  Thanks to everybody who helped to make them a success!  Marsha and Laura would like to collect photos of adult plants purchased by MGs to use for non-copy right visuals to be used in future plant sales.

Speakers:  Val Mertz-  No report

Hort Line:  Patti Kolek-  Hort Line is still working on a Call-In basis.

Education:   Mary Medina is not in charge of the Education committee at this point.  This position is still open and will be discussed at the next Education Committee meeting.  Ann Schappe, Waneta Parmenter, Val Mertz, and Maureen Wamsley have done some work on getting speakers for the library and the 2021 Dig In.
