St. Charles County Master Gardeners'
Native Gardens receive platinum level award from St. Louis Audubon
Congratulations to the MG Native Area Demo Garden team!
Mitch Leachman - of the Saint Louis Audubon Society - conducted a St. Peters Extension property review, and has awarded us with the Audubon "Bring Conservation Home" Platinum Certification for our native areas. Paperwork will arrive late
What are the certification levels? See: https://stlouisaudubon.org/certification-levels.
Who is Mitch Leachman?

Platinum is their highest level of certification, and you are all to be commended for your efforts and commitment, especially during this time of social distancing and site restrictions
A sign from Audubon that recognizes our achievement that we can install on the site, once we obtain approval from Extension, per policies regarding signage. See attached picture of the sign.
Mitch may post an announcement on their Facebook page recognizing our certification as a institutional site (as opposed to residential) if the Extension staff approves and provides some the details of such an announcement.
According to Mitch, we are the first Institutional site (non-residential) to receive a Platinum Certification in Saint Charles.
Congratulations and thanks to all of us!!
A big thank you to the City of St Peters and our St. Charles County Extension Council for seeing this project through to completion. Many, many, many groups and individuals have contributed to this cause from its beginning efforts over 5 years ago. Special acknowledgement to those who have dug us out of the previous flood damages and attempted various remedies to prevent storm water damage to the property.
Goes to show what a community that works together can accomplish!
