Farmers Markets

Currently MG members participate at the St. Charles Farmer’s Market by the Foundry in Old Town St Charles; as well as, the Lake St. Louis Farmer's Market located in the Meadows shopping center  off Highway 40/64 in Lake St. Louis.  One Saturday each month during the season, our booth will be available from 8am until noon as a public service.

One purpose is to provide information on the Master Gardener program and on the many programs offered by the St Charles County Extension.  Activities to engage the public in seasonal gardening activities is stressed.

Another purpose is to provide research based information.  There is literature on many different topics to hand out:  Japanese beetles, fireblight, vegetable growing, lawn problems, pine tree problems to name a few.  We also answer questions that the public may have and offer to get back with them if we don’t have an immediate answer.  Those questions are referred to the Hortline volunteers who research the answers and get back to them in a timely manner.
