Farmer's Market

 

Currently Master Gardener volunteers participate at two Farmers Markets each month, May through September.  The first Saturday of the month we are at the New Melle Farmers Market , 3560 Mill St, New Melle, MO from 8 to 12.  On the third Saturday of the month we are at the St Charles Riverside Farmers Market at the Foundry Arts Center, off of Main Street, from 7:30-12.

 

Another purpose is to provide research based information.  There is literature on many different topics to hand out:  Japanese beetles, fireblight, vegetable growing, lawn problems, pine tree problems to name a few.  We also answer questions that the public may have and offer to get back with them if we don’t have an immediate answer.  Those questions are referred to the Hortline volunteers who research the answers and get back to them in a timely manner.
